What a wonderful 125th anniversary weekend we had!

Primate Fred Hiltz Celebrates

Nearly 400 people enjoyed an exhilarating evening together on Saturday.  While the children were mesmerised by the antics of a magician (with a bunny!), adults mingled, laughed, drank and ate together.  An era spanning video, produced by Peter Pacini, highlighted the blessings of the past, the joy of the present and the hope of the future. Our 13th Rector, Jenny Andison, spoke about our need to stay rooted in Jesus Christ and shared her delight that Andrew Federle has been appointed Interim Priest in Charge.

Youth Choir

Sunday morning began with a marvellous procession around the church – children waving streamers, former Rectors, the head of the Anglican Church of Canada – all to the rousing singing of that great Advent hymn O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.  Our first Advent candle was lit by the Brimo family, and a packed church heard Archbishop Hiltz root us in our present and point us towards the future, the choir offered up the sumptuous motet I Was Glad and the youth choir brought down the house with He is Able.

At the reception that followed, our Wardens spoke of the hope found in Jesus, people picked up our new photo church directory, the Anglican Award of Merit was given to David Stovel and Richard Webb received a beautiful Advent stole from the Anglican Church Women on the occasion of his upcoming priesting.

Thanks be to God for his faithfulness and a really fun weekend !  Onwards and upwards.

Launch of our Legacy Program

We are pleased to help celebrate the 125th anniversary of St. Clement’s with the launch of our Legacy programme The Friends of St. Clement’s. These are parishioners past and present, publicly acknowledged, who have created their legacy by designating a planned gift to our church through their will. We are grateful for their vision to be faithful stewards of God’s mission into tomorrow and beyond.See stclements-church.org/legacy for more information.
