Here at St.Clement’s we believe we are called to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in our neighborhood. Throughout the year there are a number of ways to be involved in a hands on basis.
Wednesday Community Lunch
Every week throughout the year, volunteers provide a hot nourishing meal and fellowship at St Clement’s for 25 to 40 people in need in the community. Those attending are also assisted with information on free medical and dental care, housing and meal information. Parishioners are invited to contribute food, clothing, and supplies such as toiletries, knapsacks and sleeping bags. New volunteer helpers are always welcome, for information please contact Carolyn Coman at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Blessing of the Backpacks
Each year in mid-September we have a special back to school service in which we bless not just the backpacks of St Clements kids and youth, but backpacks and school supplies donated by our community. These supplies are given to the kids and youth of Flemingdon Park, who may otherwise go without.
Flemingdon Park Food Bank
St Clements parishioners have supported the Flemingdon Park Food Bank since 2005. We organize special food drives for Flemingdon Park and provides funds to meet additional needs. Volunteers also provide gifts and cookies for children at Christmas.
Anglican Church Women (ACW)
The ACW is a ministry that affirms the gifts of all Anglican women and provides an opportunity to contribute through worship, learning and service. In particular, the ACW focuses on issues affecting the wider community, such as health, education and poverty. Membership is open to all Anglican women. The ACW at St Clements is involved in a variety of projects and fundraising; an eagerly anticipated annual event is the Christmas Fair. To get involved with this fun event, or the ACW, please contact President Marg Shawyer or Past President Linda Sparling at email@example.com.
